China has offered to negotiate with the US over the number of Chinese missiles deployed opposite Taiwan. In return, the US would sell fewer advanced weapons to Taiwan. This probably won't work, as the missiles could be brought to the coast more quickly than the advanced weapons could be shipped to Taiwan.
