Chinese Moslems in several parts of the country protested American attacks on Afghanistan. The Chinese government ordered media not to report the protests. There were no protests in Uighur territory, although the Chinese government has linked Uighur separatism with the bin Laden organization. Some 50 million Moslems live in China.
