The ANR (National Resistance Army) rebels claim to have killed 87 government troops in a battle near an an ANR base 30 kilometers from the Sudan border. The rebels took one prisoner, and captured 109 rifles and pistols as well as ammunition. The ANR also claims to have seized the town of Adre (near the Sudan border) last week, killing some one hundred soldiers and capturing about as many. What's odd about this is that the ANR has not been seen for years, and suddenly there they are again.

Elsewhere in the north, the MDJT rebels say 23 government soldiers defected to the rebel cause.
