Some 20 CAR (Central African Republic) soldiers were killed on the Chad border when they were attacked by Chadian soldiers. Two of the Chad soldiers died as well. The Chad troops were seeking revenge for attacks on Chad herders. For years, the border region has been the scene of range wars and disputes over grazing rights. Some of the fighting also involved bandits and tribal unrest.
