  Kyrgyz troops, searching mountain passes for Islamic rebels, found the bodies of six rebels and graves thought to contain more rebel dead. The rebels have apparently abandoned their attempts to fight their way through mountain passes into Kyrgyzstan and are fleeing back towards their bases in Tajikistan.
