UNITA claimed its forces killed 148 Angolan government troops and six Namibian soldiers in various operations throughout Angola. One specific claim said that on August 19 UNITA rebels attacked a "coalition of Angolan-Namibian troops" in Kuando Kubango province and killed six Namibians and 13 Angolan government troops in the battle.
