The US Navy is continuing its campaign to build 32 of the new DD-21 Land Attack Destroyers; budget analysts want to cut this to 18 or 24 warships to contain costs. The Navy is releasing a new study showing that it needs to increase the fleet from 300 warships to 360, and to increase from the current 116 surface warfare ships to 138.--Stephen V Cole
