An F-15 Eagle flies over NASA's Cape Canaveral. NORAD and NORTHCOM routinely provide military support to NASA shuttle launches, ensuring airspace safety and security for the launch and landing by enforcing the FAA's Temporary Flight Restriction zones. NORTHCOM is responsible for an area of operations that includes the United States, Canada and Mexico. The command serves as a "one-stop-shopping" point for military support in case of an attack on American soil.
