The US Navy continually upgrades its P-3C Orion anti-submarine patrol planes. It is currently upgrading aircraft to Update-II and Update-II-point-five. A Block Modification Upgrade Program provides additional improvements. Basically, each aircraft that comes out of upgrade/refit is a little better than the aircraft that were upgraded earlier.--Stephen V Cole
