Subject: Oath of Loyalty as a weapon against terrorism
Schackleford    12/14/2005 9:19:49 AM
A little concept I have been working on to help combat Islamo-fascism, terrorism and miscellaneous radicalism: Anyone getting a citizenship (this could include not only "refugees" but also possibly any Dane on his/her 18 year birthday) should be required to swear a legally binding Oath of Loyalty to Denmark and democracy and also swear never to condone, support or advocate terrorism, Islamo-fascism or any anti-democratic ideologi. Violating this Oath will result in termination of your citizenship. If they then make public statements endorsing Islamo-Fascism or something similar, a court could simply convict them of violating their Oath of Loyalty, strip them of their citizenship and send them packing. No need to desolve any organizations or worrying about radicals living of welfare. When their citizenship is revoked they are no longer our responsibility.

The problem is that if a person has only one citizenship it is problematic to expell that person, as very would accept such a person without a state. It was one of the factor that gave us the immigration problem in the first place. A much better solution is to enforce the current laws: I doesn't matter what you think, but what you do. You have rampant nazies whose fantasies and rambling are positively blodcurdling in this country, but as long as they haven't done anything illegal there is nothing you can do . thank god. Another matter is civil sevice, where the loyalty is a question: Then we have a situation, where people cannot be publicly employed if you cannot trust them. This is what has been magligned as "Berufsverbot", so as long as the socialist are in power, that will not be enforced.

"A much better solution is to enforce the current laws: I doesn't matter what you think, but what you do." No doubt about that, any country would be in great shape if all laws were obeyed and enforced. "Another matter is civil sevice, where the loyalty is a question: Then we have a situation, where people cannot be publicly employed if you cannot trust them." A good place to start, would be to make sure that Musa Kronholt never gets a job as school teacher.

Terrorists would just lie, take that oath and do whatever theyt wanted. You would be better off with key persons in the different communities working closely with the authorities and using extensive background checks for people that work in key positions. Of course the lefties don't wanna do background checks, because "it's just so unfair". The righties don't wanna do background checks, because they don't wanna pay the money needed to do this right.

"Terrorists would just lie, take that oath and do whatever theyt wanted." Make them take the oath and eat a Danish Ham sandwich to prove their loyalty.

"Terrorists would just lie, take that oath and do whatever theyt wanted." If the terrorists/extremists/whatever took the oath and then did anything in violation of it, they would get their citizenship revoked and be expelled. So it would not be possible to cheat your way in. Once the Oath was taken, it would be legally binding. And anyone making a public statement would be supplying the authorities with evidence against him.
