Attacks on U.S. Troops in Iraq Grow in Lethality, Complexity
Iraqi insurgents are using increasingly sophisticated and lethal means of attack, including bigger roadside bombs that are resulting in greater numbers of American fatalities relative to the number of wounded.

Go figure, unlike so many US politicians, the Shia aren't talking about pulling out of Iraq. So no matter what you do to the Iraqi forces, the Shia are still going to be around in a couple of years. With all of the US politicians out there talking about surrender, the US military is a much more sensible target.
