With all this talk about another War in the Middle East I just would like your opinion on the strength of Middle Eastern Militaries. This will include everything. From Air Forces, modern technology, amount of reserves, armored formations, force projection, naval and aerial power, training, special forces, etc. In my view, 1 - Israel 2 - Turkey 3 - Egypt 4 - Saudi Arabia 5 - Jordan 6 - Oman 7 - Iran 8 - UAE 9 - Syria 10 - Kuwait Thoughts, Comments, Suggestions, Analysis, Welcome

Egypt? that really makes me lough.

When it comes to military power ,all Arab countries without exception should shut up and sit aside ,they had their asses kicked counless times .

The only competition to Israel in the middle east would be Turkey.

Top 10 Military ranking of Middle East
1- Turkey Army : Turkish Army they have the most number of Active Land Forces

2- Israel :  Israeli nukes

JTR~~    Oman is the underdog here   3/15/2010 3:06:55 PM
their army is frankly to put it in crude terms a beast, they are amazingly well equipped, and they have a very strong ally in the form of the good old United Kingdom (who by the way supplies and trains most of their army, in return the British army get to use Oman as a playground).
plus they have some equipment the many EU countries would like (suprisingly so, Oman is equipped much like a modern european army, much like the Austrian army or the Irish army)

Raking can be real or not real , the technologies and the advanced weporny system is just a tools but who ends Wars is the men in front thats the one that any country must take him in consider because with out him there's no country
you can be the world most advanced country in any field but with out that man every thing will be disapper so the ranking is not important we cant see who is the first and the last because there's classified projects in any country so Standar is the war
that can determine who is the first and the last
p.s(without Techniques there's no Ranking).

UAEmilitary    UAE underestimated   10/24/2012 7:09:06 AM
everyone is taking the UAE very lightly,
In terms of military technology its up there. Due to the smaller population, the UAE compensates with advanced technology and intense training, similar to what forces like Israel and Singapore do. It has the most advanced F16 fighter jets in the world called the Desert Falcon fleet. The UAE also has the highest military expenditure per capita in the world, focusing on giving it the edge due to its small population. This expenditure is not purely buying stock piles of new toys, it also includes training from the worlds best armies, and special forces.

Putting it as the weakest force or close to the end is laughable.

guyz the most powerful militry in middle east for time being is iran. then jordan and egypt that's it. the rest doesn't know even to hold a rifle. and they dont put effort in these stuff so i wanna vote 1- iran 2-egypt 3-jordan , ans suadi ariba is weak and afraid of iran and if it is not ask yourself why did it call a backup during the gulf war ?!

in 2012 the pentagon stated that
1. israel   2.turkey  3.jordan  in the region are the most powerful , well trained soldiers and discipline as well to the US advanced weapons they got from their provider .
in my opinion 1. israel  2.turkey 3.iran 4. jordan  5.egypt  6.saudi arabia ... then the rest
the arab spring did a major effect on syria if it wasnt there in the first place syria would be more powerful , also iraq was once one of the best armies in the region
