If you become wounded she probably would not be able to firemans carry you, even a short distance to a medivac! How many women do you know who could pick up a 170lb man off the ground get under him and heave him onto their shoulders, then pick up their own weapons, and carry him 500m to an LZ. I've been in the military for 12 years I haven't met one who can do that. Women in the army get alot of press for being,"at the fight" these days but I call it all talk. The majority of them have to call a male counterpart to carry their MK 19(that an auto grenade launcher) from the arms room to the humvee and mount it. Most of them are physically helpless!

I have been fireman carried by two women, and I weigh 205+lbs. One woman is an L.A. City firefighter who works on a truck (tough chick), and the other was a 21 year old girl in my academy class who power lifted since high school (off the chart lesb-o-meter reading). I don't know how many chicks in the Army fit this bill, but husky women in comfortable shoes can pack the gear. Cato

In defence of nay sayers: Well, one concrete reason that can be quantified is... ... we beat them at math (for getting real serious about scientific sniping). But thats a dangeous ground to walk on -- Chinese boys beat most of us in math on average, but 90% of Chinese are myopic according to Business Week... so go figure ;-)

SOME of those strengths are undoubtedly attributes of successful to sniper, some aren't. The flip side is men have various strengths that women don't, etc. I'm aware that the Russians uses women successfully as snipers, so did the NVA/VC on a few occasions. I think that most of their employment was in static situations though. If you sift through all the historical references to "women warriors," I think most of the time they are being transported (horsewomen) or fightng static. In spite of all the supposed "evidence" of women warriors, I've not read anythng from a credible source where women have participated as Infantrywomen in an offensive campaign, packed all the gear, walked all the miles, engaged in hand to hand etc. Maybe it's happened but I'm not aware of it.

Guys, if women, nurses and what not can rip babies out of their own entrails, you can bet they can push the trigger easily. ALthough they are a bit too PC about it, and sometimes get distracted, not wanting to show the guys how goullish they can be. And that gets in the way of things. Push comes to shove, though, my experience with the American woman is that while she is not as premiditative (in other words usualy a paranoiac dolt whose denial can be easily exploited), when push comes to shove... stay out the way if she got a gun.... coz she aint gona lose sleep over it.
