Subject: What does it take to move Canada?
SGTObvious    4/24/2003 3:33:58 PM
We in the US love you guys, dearly, but we've really been a bit upset over how slowly Canada has responded to our request to tighten border security. Now, 7 Canadians have died of SARS, and, well, let me let the Premier of Ontario speak for himself: "I think it is fine as far as it goes to have information available to people [coming and going from the country] but I think there should be a screening process in place at both [exit] and [entry] points," Mr. Eves told reporters in response to the WHO advisory How come there never seems to be an Asian Plague around when you need one?

First of all, Canada's politics is seriously ed up. Where I live Kitchener, Ontario we have 5 levels of government and all but the provincial govt. is liberal. Being totally liberal the only things that get attention are social programs-- like anti-guns and the smart kids spend for the tard kids. It's obvious from the state of our military that our countries defense is purely political, as in the US protects us. Also, Canada?s economy/liberals being re-elected relies on immigrants and refugees so our borders need to be loose. We're not under much of a terrorist threat so border tightening isn?t worth the money to the liberals. Also we have a lot more border than the US and only 1/10 the population to cover the borders. Therefore, if the US want's titer borders they have to do it themselves.
