Maoism is still popular with the disenfranchised middle aged and elderly. Many of them have been left behind by economic development and getting their pension benefits is an iffy proposition. Oddly, reciting Mao doctrine is actually a jailable offense now, it advocates reversing economic reforms and is considered a threat to stability.

Just a way to vent, nobody has the desire to go back. Outsider can not understand the society there -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- there is nothing worthy to be understood especially after watching chinese people begging and enacting gruesome torture scenes of china on the streets of new york.

And after they got green card, they dont care politics any more. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- actually they dont get any cards.they remain illegal and keep begging while chinese govt.continues to pretend all's well in the chinese utopia.on the other hand people like you dont acknowledge it because you are afraid that the soft baloon of ego and pride which you protect urself with will burst and the game will be up.so,inspite of you living a miserable life yourself, you will never acknowledge any chinese problem in public.what a miserable state to be in.its better to drown urself in a spitoon and die than to live a life of shame, subjugation and false propaganda.i on behalf of all forumites from democratic societies express deep sorrow at your plight.amen!

"Just a way to vent, nobody has the desire to go back." Well, before the cultural revolution, everyone was poor but had food, water and shelter...oh yeah, free basic medical care too. There is a big shift in the CCP towards the left because of the massive social and economic instability that unrestrained capitalism is creating. "Outsider can not understand the society there." that includes outsiders like you, canadian boy.

"And after they got green card, they dont care politics any more." The chinese who do get their green card come here and find out how nice it is to be able to participate in civic affairs and to watch the media openly and heatedly debate the good and bad of current politicians, businesspeople and law enforcement. They know that saying such things about current leaders in china would land them in a ditch with a shovel.

Actually, your statement about coming to the US to get rich is bass ackward. the chinese immigrants say "if you want to get rich stay in china, if you want to be free come to the US".

Immigration to US is a huge business in China. Mocking pretest is a good way for somebody who can't go to college/university, or don't have money. Many lawyers in New York do this and you need to provide "evidence" to support your claims. By that way at least half of a million Chinese already immigrate to US and even don't need to take Chinese quotes, LOL. And every year they send back about $3-5 billion back to China. US knows it so they change the rules already(familiy plan is no longer an execuse), but people still find ways to do it. Even Chinese government assissts them, after they got legal status they can go to the Embassy and get all documents again so the first thing they do is to return to China to visit friends and apply for their families. Many of them think Americans are stupid after they got the status, just put too much on face values. I hope my answer is clear enough. But seems no Indian friends like to answer Maoist question, just simply dodge it by stiring up something else.
