Subject: Operation Rolling Commitment
Mike From Brielle    10/28/2009 2:04:32 PM
May I suggest the above title for the new tactics, operations and strategy proffered by the left for the new Strategy in Afghanistan? But prior to actually implementing this policy we should replace the professional Military officers and enlisted ranks currently fighting in Afghanistan with the Politicians, Think tankers, journalists, academics and their grad students in order for them to better receive the feedback necessary to properly adjust the implementation of their theories, opinions, and idea's.

Also may I add they?ve selected an excellent laboratory to conduct their experiments? With the Taliban, who have been doing this whole gorilla war thing for almost 30 years now (not going all the back of course), they?ll get quick and un-ambiguous test results that will allow them to adjust their experiment criteria for still further experimentation and the possible application for still more grants.

Nicely put.  Perhaps the name would be even more evocative of its progenitor if it was "Operation ROLLING UNDER"?

Perhaps that would be more appropriate/ evocative but I myself do not concede in any way that our efforts in Afghanistan are going "UNDER".  Rather it is a lack of commitment to a workable and appropriate strategy that is the problem right now.  The original Rolling Thunder campaign was a case study of political incremental ism IMHO over a coherent strategy for fighting a war and therefor should be avoided at all costs.
