Subject: Typical day in a SOF team?
GOP    4/25/2006 12:19:18 AM
I have already asked about "Life in a SOF team", but what is your typical day like. I basically mean, what is your training schedule typically like? Is it "HSLD" like you see in the commercials, or is it more administrative stuff with things like PT, range time, and martial arts mixed in? I certainly don't want to limit this thread to one person, but Old Grunt would be a huge help here.

there really is no typical Day, in most tier 1-2 unit's, PT is left up to the individual at most time's, you motivate yourself, no one's there to hold your hand, it's not like in an AB or Ranger type unit, where it's a muster run or company pt at 6am, but there are certain proficenies that have to be maintained, for instance here, it's mandatory to do 3 Day's and 1 night per week on the range, but otherwise, it's team level training, ie one team may be at the demo range, or another may be doing MFF training, or AFIBUA ect, then you have other guy's doing specialised training, Language's, or guy's attached to major city hospital's as is the case for medic's here ,or what ever, now it's different for the BR team, all they do is train in CT/HR techniques, every Day, Aircraft-train's-bus's-ect, intell on threat's, CPO duties, and some other thing's I won't discuss, but that's here, it's probably a bit different for Navy SEAL or SF unit, less of the BR stuff mostly.

Thanks alot, Mough. I didn't know that PT was left up to the operator in elite units (well, I guess true special operations units). So basically you are training constantly with your team/squad, have to be at the range a few times a week, etc. Two questions...I am not too up on the SOF language, so what is MFF training and CPO duties (some kind of administrative stuff)?
