Subject: US Navy Aircraft to be banned from the EU unless it cuts GG emissions
reefdiver    8/24/2009 7:53:53 PM
"The European Union (EU) released a 94-page list of airlines that must reduce their emissions or will be banned from European airports two days ago. These are airlines of various sorts from all around the world. Some top players include United Airlines, US Airways, and the US Navy." Here's the actual regulation: h**p://eur-lex.europa.eu/LexUriServ/LexUriServ.do?uri=OJ:L:2009:219:0001:0094:EN:PDF Note that this appears to be effective immediately. I imagine most of the the airlines - including the US Navy will only be able to realize this by flying fewer aircraft. This could result in a rather interesting set of international political problems...

Sounds like it's time to relocate US forces remaining inside of Europe.

On a more serious note, this will almost certainly start a global trade war if enforced.
