As of 2013 NATO troop losses at the hands of Afghan soldiers were about 20 percent of all NATO and 16 percent of all American deaths. So far this year it is five percent of all NATO deaths. The U.S. military, which has suffered most of these deaths has taken the lead in getting the number of these killing reduced. Investigations of the incidents show that only 10-20 percent have anything to do with the Taliban. The rest are
simply Afghans with guns doing what they have always done.
The difference now is that there are armed foreigners around to get angry at and kill. But these attacks by allies attracts a lot of media attention, which is what the Taliban wants. The Taliban needs all the help it can get because overall they are not doing too well.
Treachery, deceit, lying, cowardice, childishness, stupidity...
It seems that Pakistanis and Afghans have a LOT in common.

Have the killers represented all the ethnic groups in Afghanistan, or have the Pashtuns been more likely to kill?

Scratch a wahabist and you can rather much guarantee that it ain't the tribe at fault. It's the sect (or as I prefer to regard it, superstition.).

I'll disagree with all of the above and say this has nothing to do with the religion. It never has. Europeans were as primitive and as brutal in years gone by.
No, this is what its always been. Low socio-economic societies producing what they always produce.
Uneducated, primitive minded, tribal behaviour. I can pretty much promise you that if you take one of these pieces of shit (as a former soldier, i still hate fuckers who do this) who murdered a coalition soldier and had raised him in a western household_as christina, muslim or jew), given him an education, and raised him in a culture where the rule of law applies, he wouldn't have gone ape shit and murdered his fellow troops. Or a US major-general for that matter.
We mix in with them, we can only expect more of the same.
Then there are those of us who are scum bags and would sell our mothers for a dime, hence these uneducated tribal peasant assholes carry 20th century assault rifles, whereas, they were raised by a culture, that without our interference, would barely be capable of producing a bow and arrow.

18 of the 19 bastards who mounted the 9-11 attacks were college educated, half of them in the West.
Want to tell me where they got the MONEY for it? The garbage in that region of the world (and its a huge one) definitely starts at the TOP ECHELON and trickles down. I've seen those BASTARDS face to face.
