need info on this"carrier busting"missile.this missile was originally
the ss-n-22 anti-ship missile(mosquito).the only info i have on this new version(called the "yakhout")is it is capable of 4.5 mach terminal
speed thus undefensable with present day shipborne defense missiles.

no missile is "undefensible" in my day I helped to defeat "undetectable" and "unstoppable" anti shipping missiles you just need to turn loose your techs - and we have done - missiles hunting moving targets have a problem - they need to track it - so you can use their signals as warning - and you can decieve them - and even use them to direct your defense weapons - without saying how

It's an awesome missile. The best defense is to sink the enemy warship carrying it using aircraft or to force them enemy warship to launch the missiles in the wrong direction using decoys. It usually takes two air defense missiles to shoot down each incoming missile or plane. The ships that carry the new-fangled Russian anti-ship missiles just don't have enough missiles to last long.
