I doubt an apology to the US Govt. and US MilFors, for blaming them for the security failure in Iraq will be forthcoming? Still, I suppose, an early retirement, a transfer and a tounge-lashing is a step in the right direction. Tuesday, March 30, 2004 UNITED NATIONS — In a stinging rebuke, Secretary-General Kofi Annan said senior U.N. staff ignored the security threats in Iraq before the Aug. 19 bombing of its headquarters in Baghdad that killed 22 people. He fired one top official and demoted another. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,115576,00.html

This is a strong statement of principal from the UN. If the security of UN personnel can not be assured, how can they retain control of their fair share of bribes?
