Subject: Break up the FBI
Ashley-the-man    3/21/2007 12:25:19 PM
The al-Qaeda cells that resided in the United States and metastasized into 911 – not to diminish WTC 93 and other attacks – were supposed to be stopped by the Counter Terrorism Task Force CTTF set up in the FBI. As the history of 911 and the subsequent war on terror unfolds there will be a battle from the bureaucracy at the FBI to cover-up it’s negligence and spin events to deflect criticism. Owing to the failure in the 1990’s to uncover the 911 plot, what reassurance do we have today that the FBI is any more effective? If anything the FBI and new bureaucracies have put on even more fat and made them less agile and effective in countering terrorist threats. Other countries facing this similar threat split separate counter terrorist functions in smaller more closely focused departments. John Yoo – see link – and author Peter Lance are strongly recommending such a change in focus for the FBI. Of course this administration and future ones will resist the change due to the power of the entrenched bureaucracy.

The fact that the Clintons are not in the White House.
