Subject: 9/11 Celebration
appleciderus    8/30/2003 6:37:08 AM
From today’s Washington Times By Bill Gertz “ The British-based Islamist group Al-Muhajiroun is holding a conference on the second anniversary of September 11 to honor the 19 terrorists who hijacked the commercial jets used in attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon. A poster touting the event to be held at four locations in England includes photographs of the al Qaeda hijackers and refers to them as "The Magnificent 19" — a word play on the 1960 film "The Magnificent Seven." In the newspaper interview, Bakri was asked about a phrase on the conference poster that said the United Nations is "a legitimate target." "They are legitimate targets because it represents the right-hand tool of the world Crusades led by America and its allies against Islam and the Muslims," he was quoted as saying. Bakri also said the bombing of the United Nations headquarters in Baghdad, which killed at least 23 persons, will not be the last terrorist attack.”

That was not the entire article, which is on-line at the papers web site. I encourage all to read the article in it's entirety.

Only pundits and wannabes will appear. Or amateurs. The real ones will stay away, or send envoys.

Seeing something like this, makes you really wonder whether immigration to countries like the UK/USA/Canada/NZ/Australia doesn't need to be revamped significantly in the new security environment. I'm an immigrant myself, and believe in the benefits of skilled worker immigration as I have seen it and lived it first hand. But all these countries need to clearly revamp their policies in terms of stopping immigration from countries who may pose a security risk either in direct terms, or in terms of creating an environment which makes it easier for terrorists to operate in (some ghettoised parts of Queens, NY, and the UK come into mind). In Canada recently, they reported that many Pakistanis who were illegally in the US entered Canada and have applied for asylum here - if they were illegal in the US, how on earth were they allowed in here?

>A poster touting the event to be held at four locations in England includes photographs of the al Qaeda hijackers and refers to them as "The Magnificent 19" — a word play on the 1960 film "The Magnificent Seven." In my opinion everybody that makes public statements supporting terrorism ought to be classified as terrorist supporters, and by extension as terrorists themselves. That would end their revelry. The whole situation kinda makes you yearn for the days of Henry VIII; you know, "a traitor's death", heads on pikes, burning at the stake, etc.

As I posted on the Iraq bord. No-one protested. Not a single brit even handed out anti-hate leaflets. Its perfectly acceptable to Hang Tony Blair out to dry for trying to protect his nation, but Allah forbid that anyone should even comment, let alone protest about a terrorist recruitment programm held openly in Englands second city. Tehran i could understand. But Birmingham???
