Subject: Stupid Headline: U.S. Boots On The Ground In Libya, Pentagon Confirms | Fox News

Bias, conservative or liberal is bad. What a foolishly blatant attempt to manipulate the news and public perceptions... h*tp://www.foxnews.com/politics/2011/09/12/us-boots-on-ground-in-libya-pentagon-confirms/ ...NEWS FLASH; The U.S. Embassy is U.S. Territory. -DA

My first confrontation with media bias was when i saw coverage of Cote d'Ivoire in 2002 and the military intervention of France. The Bias was obvious to me cause I knowed personally Dr Antoine Ahua junior...

It is hard to know wish interest specific media owner have on specific issue... The best way to protect yourself from bias in the media is to get your news from many different source, different country if possible.

The looks less like a case of bias and more like sensationalism to attract readers (not desirable either).

Its neither biased nor sensationalism, there was a report going around that there where indeed boots on the ground in Libya, which is what the headline is referring to. The article itself is also very fair and points out that it is no big deal. Fox news unlike others that don't report anything at all that doesn't fit their agenda reports it all fairly then lets you decide.

That's a naive statement. Fox News is as bias as any other news organization and is blatantly using the headline to contradict the POTUS statements on Libya in order to attract viewers for both financial(ad revenue) and political reasons(conservative bias). Most new agencies do this including liberal biased news. This is just a particularly blatant example. -DA

Like you said all media including NPR and PBS are very bias.

Then why only picking on Fox News?

Is it solely because the channel is particularly disliked by the current tenant of White House?

And, Jimme, no, Fox News did selective reporting on things as well. After all, the are partially owned by a Saudi Prince. They exist to fill a market, and Murdoch isn't really a conservative. Whenever possible, they paint conservatives and libertarians the way leftists want people to believe.

Murdoch is Centre-Right -- but his strategy is to try and retain influence whatever the weather - consider that News Corp actually donated (slightly) more money to the Obama campaign than to McCain, something those addicted to watching Fox would be hard pressed to imagine.

Of far greater concern is his strategy of courting China, his wife is Chinese and they both have very high level links. My guess is that Murdoch sees entering the emerging Chinese market as his last major act as executive - which means that on any of the platforms/outlets he controls you will almost never see anything negative about the PRC quite the opposite. I would love to know what arrangements/agreement he has made with them, as controller of such an influential outlet as Fox (among others) he has enormous political influence...

Not so much as far as i can see. Even the wire taping scandal was widely reported in the NY Post and FOX 5 news here in NYC as well as in the WSJ along with the disclaimer that they are owned by news corp. The MRC rated fox news the the highest for balanced reporting. Now I am not a fan boy thinking they are all roses, but the truth is they give more credible information then any of the other major networks and don't omit stories that go against the MSM narrative.

As for Mr. Murdoch who cares if his wife is Chinese or that he has an interest in china, he is a business man and China is a major market. Besides its Roger Ailes that runs Fox news making News corp. a bundle of money. His job is safe whether Hannity or Orielly go after China or not.

Then you do not see. Once you do you will recognize the foolishness that Fox calls news. They are as bias as any other organization in the news industry and the post here CLEARLY demonstrates the point. -DA

You need to pay more attention on Solindra scandal, LightSquared scandal, Operation Fast & Furious debacle that the mainstream media are ignoring. Any single one of them are worse than Watergate scandal and some has potential implications worse than Iran-Contra.

Those three are the biggest so far. That's what you get when media are playing as lap dogs for the White House.
