Subject: Is this the reason for the internet kill switch
norden    1/28/2011 9:16:14 PM
One of Egypts first moves was to kill internet and cell phones. I wonder if this is reason we are trying to implement the "kill switch" here. IMO if we never needed it before why do they feel they need it now and if they do then shouldnt we be worried?

USG already has had its finger on the triggers.  Years ago.  No U.S. state does though.  FWIW it took awhile before USG even knew that it had stinky finger for the orifice it had authorized to be created and justification has been playing catch up since.  What is happening now is simply to distribute, er reroute, blame, er responsibility, in the event the plugs get pulled especially if selectively.  Otherwise you might have law schmucks like me a'chasing that ambulance ;>)  0.02
