It seems 21 pages of central economic planning is the answer to Obama/Bush problem.

Brief, succinct and right on the point. If this is the best GOP establishment can come up with, they need to go away the way Whigs did.

I wonder when the last time was either of you twits actually spoke to a Congressman, Senator, or State Legislator? Have you ever camped out in your party's offices or even bothered to attend the local caucus? Would your Govenor or even local dog catcher recognize you? You are getting out of your political parties exactly what you are putting into them.

I think its a good start being specific enough to highlight the important issues like repealing obamacare, killing cap-n-trade, cutting spending and taxes. It doesn't however give the Dems anything to try and spin to use against them. It was well thought out.

I especially like the parts that say a bill must be posted for reading at least three days before it can be voted on as well as the rule to require all bills be assessed for their constitutionality. There is also a proposal to ban congress from trying to sneak unpopular bills into major legislations that would be epic in changing the establishment.

I don't see how an economic plan to cut spending and reduce regulation can be considered to be central planning. Apart from the healthcare related stuff which I don't agree with, I think overall the whole the plan is good.

I've put signs in ant-infested cow fields and medians for a state rep-turned-state senator. I've mowed wasp-infested empty lots he has some sort of interest in...and I've repaired ceilings and walls in spider-infested buildings he has some sort of interest in.
He and my dad are friends, and they take me spearfishing.
I'd probably do it even if he voted for 2100 pages just to find out what was in it. He did 4 tours in Vietnam.

I don't believe that the problem is one where the incorrect levers are being pulled.

The Contract with America had substance and well defined goals and the pathways to achieve them.  The Roadmap has none of that, just general platitudes and casual remarks about "doing better than the Dems".  The lack of coherence demonstrates how deep the divisions are between mainstream Repubs, the Tea Party and the religious fanatics.   Its not so much a lack of commitment to an actual plan as it is the inability to form a united front.
