Art is an important part of a culture's contemporary essence. It has been used since the time of cave drawings to mark our progress. That trend continues today.....

The title of this portrait is ?The Forgotten Man,? and its creator is Jon McNaughton, a 42-year-old artist from Spanish Fork, Utah. McNaughton unveiled the piece last Tuesday with a video describing its origin and a website explaining its meaning. ?For a long time, I didn?t know if I wanted to paint this picture, because I worried that it might be too controversial,? McNaughton intones in the video. Now, however, he?s courting controversy.

Having your bills look different would do wonders to stop Australians on late night drinking sessions in a New York bar accidentally handing over a $20 tip for a single drink. Thanks goodness for honest NY barmaids who point it out.

Those dollar bill selections are obviously not serious. The O is not vain enough to put himself on a bill. Heck, it's obviously selections to get people's goats.

The painting (to get back to the thread topic) was fairly interesting, but the painter seems to have a real issue with banks and bankers. If you go to the site and mouse over the various presidents it will give a blurb of varying length describing them. The number of blurbs which expounded on the evil bankers was quite a high percentage.

He also didn't give Cleveland due as a good president, while not even mentioning the corruption during the Harding administration.
