I'm tired of being called a bigot every time a Muslim does something outrageous. Islamist Jihadists murder 3,000 Americans.
Islamists and the liberal commentariat call us bigots when we question whether it's something intrinsically wrong in Islamic societies that leads so many of them to commit so much violence.

Islamic Jihadists repeatedly murder, or try to murder, more Americans.
Islamists and the liberal commentariat call us bigots when we point out a pervasive pattern of radical imams, supported by Saudi Arabians, fomenting violence against America and Americans

An Islamist imam wants to put a 15 story mosque a few hundred feet from Ground Zero.
Islamists and the liberal commentariat call us bigots when we point out that a Wahabist mosque within sight of Ground Zero cannot help but be a celebration of that dastardly act of terrorism.

In each case it seems the only way we can avoid being bigots is to give way to Islamists. The funny thing about these surrenders is that they only yield dispensations until the next outrageous act.

Can this ever stop? What should we do when they want a mosque in Arlington Cemetery, or the National Mall?

Or maybe, just maybe, the approval or disapproval of Islamists is irrelevant. After all, we will never get  approval of those who want nothing more than our destruction. Maybe, just maybe, we don't want the approval of people who don't believe in American ideals in the first place.

"We must take stock and do some soul-searching by asking ourselves the opposite question, [namely] how people in a Muslim country would react if the Christians wanted to pray in a mosque on Sunday due to an insufficient number of churches. Or let's ask an even simpler [question]: What is the reaction in most Arab and Muslim countries to the demand of religious minorities ? not only Christians but also Hindus and Sikhs ? to build their own houses of worship? In practice, our countries exhibit hypocrisy and a double standard. We keep increasing our religious demands vis-à-vis the West, while refusing to meet even a few of the demands made by religious minorities living among us."

In Muslim countries it takes special permission from authorities to repair existing "infidel" places of worship. This is not the same thing as a building permit in Western countries. It is a matter of Sharia.  It is almost impossible to build a new church or synagogue. This has been the pattern since the first years of Muslim expansion. The only place  Cairo authorities would allow a new Christian church to be built, after decades of requests, was in the city dump outside the city limits.

I wonder if the term "reciprocity" means anything any more.

I would not be surprised if people in the Middle East seemed always to insist on getting something they want in return for a concession granted by them. They are legendary horse trader types from what I understand.

How about a monument to crusaders in Jerusalem?

How about a Southern Baptist theological seminary in Mecca - a demonstration of true tolerance?

This we will not hear.

I'm grateful for this article. I clearly demonstrates the existence of a small but vocal minority of rational Palestinians. Please note this got published in the PA propaganda bugle.
I thought that the Arab opposition to Islamofascism existed only among Israeli "Palestinians". The ones I know are, however, mostly guys my age, i.e., geezers. The younger generations are a lot more radicalized.
