I see mercer the big human resources firm has release their latest study on the best cities in the world to live in. the top two being swiss then good old Vancouver. The highest placing american cities were honolulu and san francisco who were tied with calgary for 25th spot behind a couple of other canadian cities. seems mercer rates in 39 categories when figuring this stuff out. makes you wonder how we would rate if our weather wasn't so well damnably cold.

personaly I will take -20 F to 120 F. I am getting more turned off by the snow however. I think the weather is milder in Vancover than where I live here in Nevada. Now if my mother-in-law would just move back to Alberta things would be nice. She is the only Canadan that i have ever met that I did not like. Sorry but I have to go to work, we are on shut down and duty calls. Bb

the temperature range in vancouver runs from about -4 C to 25 or 28 C in the summer. this winter was abnormally chilly and we had snow on the ground for as much as 6 days straight i think it was. the downside to the weather here is the unrelenting rain in the winter. can go literally weeks at a time without seening sunshine which wears on a person. if you ever make it up this way let me know and i'll buy you a beer or six.

Thank you for the offer. We had snow on the ground for a lot more than 6 days in a row here, a lot more. And we only average about 7" of percipitation a year so the rain does not sound to bad. And it will be less than -4C tomorrow morning here. All in all Vancouver is a very nice place. Bb

in the spring and fall there are a couple months where you can ski in the morning and go windsurfing in the afternoon. it's good to live in god's country.

it was an article in the vancouver province the day i first posted. i don't know if they do an online edition you can link to though. couple column inches buried in the business section. probably best to go to the personnel company's site as it should be available there.
