Subject: Fifteen Days - Book on CDN. fighting and dying in Afghanistan
Griffin    1/14/2009 11:44:01 PM
This book was written by Christie Blatchford; a reporter embedded with CDN. troops in Afghanistan. More than once she was assigned to Afghanistan, working with troops in the field, and therefore has a better 'handle' on things then the average reporter. This book deals with the troops that fight against unreasonable odds and more often than not win. However, she also tells about the soldiers we've lost, the impacts on their families, the dangers concerning IED and suicide bomber attacks, etc. The book won the prestigious Governor General's Literacy Award and IMHO a valuable read for those interested in the CDN. side of the NATO mission.
