more seriously canadians are often popular until the locals find out how much of their assorted net worth is mortgaged through a canadian bank.  i had an uncle who managed by coincidence a bns in the bahamas back in the 60's.  the kind of job you kill for with wonderful perks.  about the time he was pining for home (he missed snow if you can believe it  ) the locals found out how much of the bahamas was actually owned by the bns and other canadian banks which led to people chucking rocks at his car etc.  so he chucked it and went back to the land of snow and ice.  me you'd have had to rpg my home to get me out of there.
