Subject: Canadian border security question

Is there a Canadian agency that is similar to our US Border Patrol or does the RCMP handle that? Does the Canadian Customs Service have a border patrol force?

The CBSA is Canada's border patrol, they are at all ports of entry to preform the customs function but also recognized law enforcement with powers to enforce immigration and such.  Since 9/11 they have seen their role expand somewhat but most immigration type law enforcement away from ports of entry is the domain of the RCMP.  Recently the federal govt. has decided to arm these people as previously they were unarmed and supported by RCMP at the border.
CBSA stands for Canada Border Services Agency.
