In another forum I read that the Taliban have started to call the Canadians 'Red Dogs'. Supposedly this is not an insult, but an acknowledgement by the Taliban of the tenacity of the Cdn. troops and is linked to a hunting dog in Afghanistan that is known for its aggressive hunt for its quarry. It kind of fits considering the Pat's have designated one of the more notorious outposts as the 'Red Devil Inn'.
