| Boy, was this refreshing and well deserved I may add. The Chief of the Defence Staff, General Rick Hillier gave the outgoing Liberal government a good 'broadside' this week when he lashed out at them for their despicable TV advertisement that vilified our soldiers, making it sound as if Stephen Harper won, we would see armed soldiers in our streets. Outside of the EH-101 promise of Chretien and Martin to kill the 'Cadillac Helicopter' program, this was probably the worst Canadians have ever seen by any government. Hiller stated he had been contacted by thousands of service personnel and their families who were extremely and rightly offended by this outrageous behaviour.
I just wished the top brass showed more public displays of displeasure or at least give the truth whenever a government lied about things military to the detriment of the CF and the people of Canada! |
