How will Maoist solve Nepal's problems? Pretty simple. They will implement the 40-demands given to the government. From where they will get resources? - confiscating all land belonging to Landlords and distributing to poor peasants - Nationalisation of all banks and properties of Tycoons - Hard work of the Nepali people! - Giving autonomy to ethnic groups - universal education to children - nullification of foreign debt

how will maoism solve anything? "- confiscating all land belonging to Landlords and distributing to poor peasants" Yeah, this worked wonders in Russia, north Korea, Zimbabwe- Ha ha ha. "- Nationalisation of all banks and properties of Tycoons" Which of course means virtual exclusion of a nation from global trading. "No thank you, you take the highway, we'll walk along a muddy trail". Another bit of sheer brilliance. "- Hard work of the Nepali people!" Ah, the revolutionary slogan! Always a good card to play! Work Hard! harder! Harder, or we'll shoot you! "- Giving autonomy to ethnic groups" For example? "- universal education to children" With communist propaganda and nothing else. "- nullification of foreign debt" Goodbye, foreign investment. Goodbye, credit rating. Goodbye, bonds. Goodbye, foreign trade. Hello, medieval times. Don't worry, you will always have the north Koreans to keep you company when you get lonely. Don't ask them to share any rice, though.

Rashtrabadi Nepali    RE:to Indigo   7/4/2002 12:14:48 PM
Famous debate: Ram and Shyam lived at the opposite ends of the road. Ram had a two storied house while Shyam had a single storied. The delima...how do you get Ram and Shyam to be at the same level of prosperiety (equal storied houses)? There are only two ways of doing this...a) Add one story to Shyam's house or 2) dismantle the top floor of Ram's house.. Well people how do you choose it? From what I see: - confiscating all land belonging to Landlords and distributing to poor peasants - Nationalisation of all banks and properties of Tycoons the above point strongly points to the 2nd option and certainly I hope you are not trying to educate people into looting and destruction. Is this your answer to - Hard work of the Nepali people! - universal education to children On providing autonomy to ethnic groups this has far reaching consequences...why would you want to disect and divide Nepal into many..possibly hundreds of pieces? There is only one logical reason...Divide and Rule.. but Rule by whom? Do you honestly think the poor uneducated rural people could efficiently be able to provide an effective autonomous government where most of the learned have failed? Is this the correct approach? There could be other reason if the before mentioned possibilities arises.. the maoists could stay in power at the local level and yet it is the same story yet again.. "all are equal but some are more equal than others..."Don't you see the similarity to the present situation? How do you propose the nullification of foreign debt? It will be possible but not as easily as you might think...well how?? By paying up or refusing to pay the capitalist countries while taking your begging bowl to the leftist government of the world? This way you might get the funds necessary but you will be adding to the huge debt which we have as you will need to re-build the infrastructure yet once again...and more over.. China could refuse and Peru certainly will not.. Russia will align with the US and only North Korea...they too have no funds to feed their comrades how will you get them to feed you for 10-20 years? The world bank will slap its doors and if you approach them you will be intending to get more foreign aid which will nullify your porposition. So, Indigo.. what will you propose? Stop the destruction of the infrastructure to minimize further foreign debts later? If so then why do you destroy them now? So you are saying that your actions are not justified?? Or Justified? What exactly are you saying? You are too vague...Please simplify your answer..Being a Nepali I need to understand after all you will be our government!!
