Subject: Alejandro Cao de Benos de Les y Perez and the Korean Friendship Association

Alejandro Cao de Benos is a Spaniard whose slavish loyalty to the DPRK is only rivaled by the most fanatical brainwashed members of the Korean Workers' Party. Who is this guy? Has anyone else heard of him? Does anyone know how he became Kim Jong Il's fanboy-in-chief? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alejandro_cao_de_benos http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CX08mOS-a-4 Something is clearly very wrong here. I can come up with several explanations: 1. spy 2. brainwashed 3. crazy/mentally disturbed 4. some combination of the above

I just saw a very weird documentary called "Friends of Kim" (Link TV)...

It was about the Spaniard taking a group of like-minded idealists (at least they thought) on a trip to NK, where they were made to participate in various propaganda exercises.  He ended up breaking into an ABC reporters room and confiscated video tape...very weird ending.

Wiki says this guy has gone missing...as of April 22, 2007...

Very strange story, but stranger yet that there are Westerners who still really believe North Koreans have it better than the rest of us,

Very strange story, but stranger yet that there are Westerners who still really believe North Koreans have it better than the rest of us,

The basic pattern goes something like ...

1.  I hate my own (Western) government, society, and so on.

2.  There is someone like ________ (fill in the blank; depending on your preference, it could be Kim Jong-Il, Castro, Chavez, Ahmadinejad, etc.) who has the balls to stand up to the decadent West.

3.  Therefore, ________ (fill in the blank again!) and similar-minded leaders must represent something as an alternative to the decadent West.

4.  Furthermore, whatever the decadent West says negatively about ________ is nothing but a typical Western powers-that-be attempting to smear him, his people, and his society.

5.  Because ________ opposes the decadent West, he has no reason to lie.

Reminds me of the "generals for peace" during the cold war.
Afterwards the the question was wheter these generals benefitted financially for this.
Appearantly this was not the case, rather it was "they were that stupid".
