Why can't we(Turkey) make a union with the Turkic countries in Central Asia which were plundered by Soviets.I think we should help our brothers more than this. A Turkic union(which is called Turan) would add all those Turkic nations a lot of things. In 1.WW Enver Pasha launched an attack on Russians to connect Turks but this war brought 90 000 death. Would international community let us make a union with them?!?!?

I've read that Ankara was trying to make such an effort, but it'll take time. Things would get really colorful if Turkey got into the EU as the "pan turkic" bloc took shape. Naturally Arabs, Iran and China would oppose this.

Actually we Chinese support your idea as far as not extending Turan to Chinese Turkistan. We consider Uygurs are assimilated by Turkish culture but not actual Turkish people. These Uygurs are just heavily influenced and ruled by their Uzbek masters and adopted their language. However, out Kazakh brothers might not be happy of their history since Mongols ruled Kazakhs for a long time. Actually Turkish people are influential in Chinese history, they even established some dynasties(10th century). If you test Chinese origins biologically, some of them are assimilated Turks. They just adopted Chinese culture, married Chinese girls and forgot their past, which is kind of sad. Are Mamelukes also Turks? It seems that they are.

"Chinese Turkistan"? You mean East Turkistan, an independent country that has been the focus of Xian's then Nanjing's then Beijing's lustful eyes for centuries.
The Uyghurs, like many other groups, are descended from the Turkic and Persian people who brought technology and trade from the ancient middle eastern civilizations to east Asia thousands of years ago.
Uyghurs, Hui and some other speak and write derivatives of the Turkish language and do not look like Chinese at all.
