Subject: Let Bullets Fly

Recently, a new Chinese movie is released and the title is "Let Bullets Fly." Unlike other Chinese movies made in PRC, this one is explosive in such a way that it insinuates a lot of discontent in China due to commie dictatorship. As a result, some commies are trying to "cool it down." However, it would not be able to get released and shown in theater had some other high commies weren't backing it. There are things cooking behind the scene.

The "old guard", the surviving leadership of the civil war, GLF and purges, are not impressed with the princelings and see the need for more change.

That's right, hope and change.

Plus, the bureaucratic machinery that actually carries out the orders is probably at odds with itself too.

In the respect, PRC is acting more and more like former Soviet Union. In the end, the discontent grows not only in the public but also within the party, regardless of economic benefit. People simply hate being treated like crap.

"The most important thing to me is without you." This is exactly what many Chinese people think about the commies.

Based on a quick peek at Google, this is a movie about 1920's China. I'd think that this wouldn't push any propaganda ministry buttons, given that it's generally seen as an era of great turmoil - turmoil that the party likes to suggest ended when it took over. If anything, it might be seen as a film demonstrating why China needs the party. In truth, I think the economy needs to get a lot worse before the party cracks up and starts to contend for power in a way that brushes aside the ideological veneer of the last 60 years. Apart from the post-WWII cutoff of American aid, generous Soviet aid and logistical support to the Communists and the millions of elite Nationalist troops killed in the Sino-Japanese War (compared to the hundreds of thousands of Communist troops), what did the Nationalists in was economic turmoil combined with hyper-inflation. The party won't lose its grip on power unless China encounters a severe economic downturn, and probably not even then. Note that the CPC's tentacles extend much further into Chinese society than any of the governmental structures preceding it, ranging from the Nationalists to the various Chinese emperors.
