Subject: Uighur Riot in XinJiang
YelliChink    7/7/2009 1:18:46 PM
The anger has been brewing for a while. The situation is evolving toward open race war. I've heard that organized Han militia there are given guns and ammo, and Han rioters are now appearing on the streets of Urumqi. The situation is only getting worse, since Uighur is known as being one of those Jihad people. Commies are now facing an open race war. They are likely to be sided with Han paramilitary groups. It'll last for a while before commies can quell it down. The anger of Mongols is still waiting to explode, and I've heard that Tibetans are now so desperate that they'll do suicide bombing.

It started in SE China as a factor riot between Uyghur and Han factions, text messaging took the fight back to E. Turkestan, all the while Kashgar is being razed and families forcibly moved to harmonious settlements.

Now is the time to drop in weapons, intel and Turkish Spec Ops advisors.

The Tibetans are getting their training from AQ.

Supporting terrorism to defeat state terrorism? I don't know which is more eviler.

Anyway, this is why Islamic terrorism dare not challenge China:

China bans Urumqi mosque prayers

China has ordered mosques in its restive western city of Urumqi not to open for Friday prayers.

I wouldn't call it a race war. The reality is that bad things happen in independence struggles. The Communist Chinese used to kill landlords along with their entire families. They certainly targeted both Japanese and Chinese civilians during the anti-Japanese War. Rebels in the European colonies did similar things against European settlers. Nobody says Kenya is an illegitimate state because of what the Mau Mau's did.

The situation there is quite different then post-colonial struggle. Han Chinese hold the better lands there, control most mining and trading centers all by the force of commies. Commie's policy is to encourage Han immigration toward XinJiang in order to wash local Uyghurs into minority on their own lands.

Once the controllability from Beijing is weakened to certain level, it's only a matter of time. Han Chinese in Xinjiang who are smart enough would start to leave there now, and they'll discover that commies will not let them do so easily.

Very true, and young Uyghurs and Tibetans are given quite a few economic incentives to leave their home areas and move to the SE and east coast.  Acceptance to good universities (but only in non-sci/tech and military programs), an affirmative action program, etc.  China also has no problem letting emigrate to the West.  Toronto has a huge Uyghur population and Denver has picked up a few (I almost dropped my groceries seeing an obvious FOB Uyghur family grocery shopping in Safeway).

For some reason, Han people in Urumqi rioted yesterday over syringe attacks. People from 9 races were attacked, so it's not really targeting Han. I really don't have any idea what's happening there. It seems that no matter what commies do -  inlcuding doing nothing - is going to agitate the situation. The only way to solve it is to reform and adope democratic institution, but that's not going to happen, so it's only a matter of time before the vulcano erupts.
