Subject: PRC Thugs Demand Apoligy from CNN
Softwar    4/15/2008 9:13:33 AM
http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20080415/ts_nm/china_cnn_dc_1 China on Tuesday demanded that television news channel CNN apologize after one of its commentators said the Chinese were "goons" and that their products were "junk." Jack Cafferty made the comments earlier this month on CNN's political program, The Situation Room. "We are shocked at and strongly condemn the evil attack by the CNN anchor on the Chinese people," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu told a regular news conference. "Cafferty used the microphone in his hand to slander China and the Chinese people, and seriously violated reporting ethics." Cafferty said the United States imported Chinese-made "junk with the lead paint on them and the poisoned pet food," adding: "They're basically the same bunch of goons and thugs they've been for the last 50 years," according to a copy of his comments carried on YouTube.

Then, what's wrong with his comment? Too true to be told? I've noticed the recent commie activities of buying and conducting all sorts of stuff with local and international gangs.

Commies are buying off local gangs in Taiwan to acquire intelligence and human trafficking.

Commies are working with Italian mafia to sell AK-47s to dubious regimes.

Commies are looking forward to work with, at least tried, local gangs in the US for all sorts of illegal activity.

In short, there is no difference between commies and organized crime.

Go ahead and hire gangs for murder, but that won't change the fact that commies are still goons and thugs.

Shows how much you know about the Triads.  Let me know when your connections to the 4 Seas, 14 K or Red Guard Triads get a contract....

If you had any law enforcement connections you would know that they don't do foreign media - because attacking a journalist brings way too much attention.  Thus, the reason for the public demand for an apoligy.  Now if something were to happen to him - the Beijing government will be the first suspect.

Do you even know where they are based, who is in the gangs, what leadership they report to, or what kind of business they are in?  I doubt it.

Well now rumor has it that the old WHITE man just hired himself some Japanese Yakuza, how bout that?

And  unless i am mistaken, the last time your Triad went against those Yakuza, your fleet got sunk by the Divine Wind?

My prediction is CNN will apoligize. Just like Mattel. Just like Colin Powell.

They most definitely will apologize.  They were entirely correct in the ways the spoke about this matter but I have no doubts an apology will be short in coming.  Todays media is just....sad.  It does not take a stand where it should and substitutes bluster, spin, and punditry for fact-finding, neutrality, and true honest journalism.

Merely a consequence of how the mass media has been structured since its infancy.  After all, gathering and reporting news requires a lot of money, and they are all practical purposes impotent unless they have regular sponsors.  Honesly, the concept of 'independent media' has been a joke, although not solely the fault of media bosses.

One of the harsh lessons in life:  'Do not be too eager to please, or to make apologies.  Once the other side smells weakness, they will up the ante and demand more.  When you stop playing this game, they will then accuse you of bad-faith.'
