Subject: What if the War had lasted into 1946?

If the invasion had failed, Russia stopped along with the entire allied offensive and the War had continued into 1946, AND you had the power to concentrate all aircraft production into half a dozen types what would they be from each combatant Nation?

1) The invasion COULDN'T fail, there was NO way the Wehrmacht withstood Overlord...
2) Stalin wasn't stopping
3) And air power didn't and wasn't sufficient to defeat Nazi Germany.

Your question is so constrained by unrealities that it is essentially UNANSWERABLE or that the answer is so utterly warped by the constraints as to be worthless.

Plus I think you have worn out your welcome and mostly reactive and OBNW and Belisarius would rather just ignore or berate you.

An interesting topic nevertheless: The entertainment-bent history education usually paints the picture of mythically cool & evil Nazis with wonder weapons that would've changed the course of war if the war hadn't ended too soon. Actually few of the truly interesting "let's speculate like teenagers" -topics around!

I have little insight to offer here. Just an educated guess that maybe Germans should've concentrated on products that had maximum flexibility in their supply chain while still being reasonably up-to-date in the air. Early-on they should've planned for raw-material efficiency, flexible fuel solutions, ability to utilize untrained slave labor to the maximum etc.

The RIGHT choice however would've been for the Germans to produce a lot of pink, nice-looking two-seater diplomat planes to fly sane Germans to negotiate a surrender to the Western Allies, preventing Soviet bloc expansion in the progress. Lot's of excellent outcomes for Germany there, millions lives saved, lots of involuntary intercourses saved, ruin of half of Europe saved.

Since it posses a plainly stated hypothetical and asks for your oppinion, nothing more, or less. This is a question of interest, nothing more, or less!
Make a list. It along with most of the rest of this board is little more than MM any way, so make a contribution. How can it hurt you? Are you afraid that others here will think your choices weak?
Then send them to me in a PM. I'll not make lite of them and do have a very real use for them. Furthermore, I'll not show them to anyone else WO your written permission!
