Come on Belgian!

Do not be a sore loser. It is not my fault that you have not read a thing since the 1960 and do not have a clue of anything since then... one toilet sub!

More lies from the troll. Have a sandwich. That should keep the boards clean for about 30 seconds while he tries and cannot understand what I just fed him. .

keffler, you already embarrassed yourself twice on the A-10 thread with your lack of knowledge and about to do it here again by not framing the article correctly.

That Stealth can be detected by certain radars is old news... and not an issue when you understand these radars immense vulnerability as well as their enormous limitations. You have to mention that if you want to avoid a third embarasment.

I am personally more concerned with the possibility of our BVR missiles being jammed... that might lead to merges and there we could have some problems.

The troll took five hours and he still could not contribute anything coherent or sensible to the discussion nor did he understand that through that previous citation I called him a liar again.

And by the way...

US-only AIM-120D missiles will feature the C7 improvements, but the D version reportedly adds a very strong set of upgrades. Pentagon documents confirm the use of smaller system components; with an upgraded radar antenna, receiver & signal processor; GPS-aided mid-course navigation; an improved datalink; and new software algorithms. The new hardware and software is rumored to offer improved jamming resistance, better operation in conjunction with modern AESA radars, and an improved high-angle off-boresight “seeker cone,” in order to give the missile a larger no-escape zone. Less-publicized improvements reportedly include a dual-pulse rocket motor, for up to 50% more range and better near-target maneuvering.

It's not like Raytheon didn't see it coming.... such an ignorant poster he is.

We have all seen you "jump" to conclusions just a few hours a go with a really embarrassing post about the F-35.

This seems a feeble attempt by you to double down.

All I am going to say is that who ever is interested can dive into the situation... of the radar guided missiles. There are issues.

Short version so I will not bore those who know.

a. In order for the the AESA to jam much less FRY the seeker head on an AMRAAM you have to match wave amplitude and throughput power EXACTLY to the receiver physically so it will accept the signal. Polarized Faraday defense, home on jam or just simple SARH with hit to kill are all effective counters to this bullflop.
b. The need for infra-red mid range missiles are a counter to Russian and Chinese improved signal management against radio based seekers. This is not an unanticipated development, but it has nothing to do with radar jamming at all. It has to do with adding a little insurance distance against the knife fight where Russian aircraft DO HAVE A SLIGHT EDGE in the angle performance and corner speeds close in (gun range.).
c. And if some of the internet fanbois who don't know what they are talking about would sit down and ST*U and think about these things just based on what they learned in school (or driving a truck), they would understand this stuff and not waste bandwidth and make themselves look more stupid than usual.

You said that titanium was less heavy than aluminum... I do not think I am out of line in calling a spade a spade and you dead-wrong!!!!

Pathetic. A man that I presume to be older and by now one would expect more judicious is nothing but a wreck trying to cover up his mistakes... sad.

Now on the missiles... it was not a bait to bring out what Keffler does not know or how little he reads but it just turn out like that... Now I brace myself for the avalanche of claims that it is a lie, etc. Post-after-post, long and crazy like those about the titanium and the aluminum.

"“We—the U.S. [Department of Defense]—haven’t been pursuing appropriate methods to counter EA [electronic attack] for years,” a senior Air Force official with extensive experience on the F-22 commented. “So, while we are stealthy, we will have a hard time working our way through the EA to target [an enemy aircraft such as a Russian-built Sukhoi] Su-35s and our missiles will have a hard time killing them.”

The problem is that many potential adversaries, such as the Chinese and the Russians, have developed advanced digital radio frequency memory (DRFM) jammers. These jammers, which effectively memorize an incoming radar signal and repeat it back to the sender, seriously hamper the performance of friendly radars.

Worse, these new jammers essentially blind the small radars found onboard air-to-air missiles like the Raytheon AIM-120 AMRAAM, which is the primary long-range weapon for all U.S. and most allied fighter planes.

That means it could take several missile shots to kill an enemy fighter, even for an advanced stealth aircraft like the Raptor. “While exact Pk [probability of kill] numbers are classified, let’s just say that I won’t be killing these guys one for one,” the senior Air Force official said. It’s the “same issue” for earlier American fighters like the F-15, F-16, or F/A-18.

Another Air Force official with experience on the stealthy new F-35 Joint Strike Fighter agreed. “AMRAAM’s had some great upgrades over the years, but at the end of the day, it’s old technology and wasn’t really designed with today’s significant EA in mind,” this official said. "
