Subject: Kashmir resolution.. straight from the horse's mouth
coolboyjay    11/16/2005 4:24:52 AM
There are a lot of pakistanis who have mentioned the UN resolution of 1948 time and again. I would like to throw some light on the resomution and what it asks the pakistani's to do. BTW, I know this would be refuted and viewed with suspicion.. but it is 100% true.. as it comes directly from the UN website. I am not going to put the whole resolution here but just some points. Now, I guess it time India says: Pakistan quit kashmir!!! http://www.un.int/pakistan/15480813.htm " As the presence of troops of Pakistan in the territory of the State of Jammu and Kashmir constitutes a material change in the situation since it was represented by the Government of Pakistan before the Security Council, the Government of Pakistan agrees to withdraw its troops from that State. The Government of Pakistan will use its best endeavour to secure the withdrawal from the State of Jammu and Kashmir of tribesmen and Pakistan nationals not normally resident therein who have entered the State for the purpose of fighting. Pending a final solution the territory evacuated by the Pakistan troops will be administered by the local authorities under the surveillance of the Commission. When the Commission shall have notified the Government of India that the tribesmen and Pakistan nationals referred to in Part II A 2 hereof have withdrawn, thereby terminating the situation which was represented by the Government of India to the Security Council as having occasioned the presence of Indian forces in the State of Jammu and Kashmir, and further, that the Pakistan forces are being withdrawn from the State of Jammu and Kashmir, the Government of India agrees to begin to withdraw the bulk of their forces from the State in stages to be agreed upon with the Commission. " See, even according to the UN, it is pakistan who is the aggressor, not India..

<< Straight from the horse's mouth >> WoW... Don't you think, If the same resolution forces Pakistan to take some measures then why don't India pushes Pakistan hard for doing so? And why do India denies to abide by the same UN Res... and stresses Pakistan to solve the issue according to Simla Accord...

>>And why do India denies to abide by the same UN Res... and stresses Pakistan to solve the issue according to Simla Accord... << Because India does not fancy POK to be a part of our country. We are happy with our part of kashmir unlike pakistan which is eyeing Indian Territory. History is witness to this. You just have to ask 2 questions 1. IS BANGLADESH A PART OF INDIA? 2. IS POK A PART OF PAKISTAN?

The debate has now become very interesting on so many parametres. <> Is it the policy statement of your country as well and didn't you heard about indian foreign ministry that, " If Pakistan wants to talk on kashmir, we are ready for that. But it will be Pakistani Kashmir and not the indian held kashmir" <> Despite of the most miserable condition of Kashmiri people u r happy because u got a part of land...gentleman, it's not a problem of a territory only. It's a matter of kashmir people right of self determination. now Straight forward, do u think india will win in Indian held kashmir in a ballot showdown with Pakistan.......?

>>" If Pakistan wants to talk on kashmir, we are ready for that. But it will be Pakistani Kashmir and not the indian held kashmir"<< I don't think that India wants any claims on POK. Most indians are happy with the way things are .. provided there is peace. But the situation in Pakistan is different. No pakistani government can settle for the present LOC. That would mean a psycological defeat. >>Despite of the most miserable condition of Kashmiri people u r happy because u got a part of land...gentleman, it's not a problem of a territory only. It's a matter of kashmir people right of self determination.<< buddy, if the pakistan is so passionate about self determination, why doesn't it let the balauchis have it? U say its an internal issue.. rite? That's because the territorial integrity of a country is very important. Also, u believe that the majority don't mind staying in pakistan. Similarly, the fraction of people in kashmir who want to join pakistan at any costs are very few. >>now Straight forward, do u think india will win in Indian held kashmir in a ballot showdown with Pakistan.......?<< Now, I won't risk it. But lets leave J&K for a moment.. I don't think Pakistan would get any votes in POK after earthquake crisis mismanagement.. It was shown on our channels, how people from POK were trying to get into J&K after the 5 temporary transit points were set up. To restrain the crowd.. the pakistani army had to use teargas..

No pakistani government can settle for the present LOC. That would mean a psycological defeat>> here u r clearly negating your foreign policy as they are thinking the other way. Baluchistan is a temperory situation (a gas royalty problem) and is solved. Unlike kashmir which is an international nuclear flash point and is a problem between two countries, where both have fought wars for it. << Now, I won't risk it. But lets leave J&K for a moment.. I don't think Pakistan would get any votes in POK after earthquake crisis mismanagement>> that's good you realized your position and know what cards you have to play. again unlike you, I am sure for Pakistan to clearly win in kashmir if stood against india. People of kashmir will never ever vote for india. << It was shown on our channels, how people from POK were trying to get into J&K after the 5 temporary transit points were set up. To restrain the crowd.. the pakistani army had to use teargas.. >> IT WAS SHOWN ON OUR CHANNEL.... DUDE, You channel shows a 'Pakistani' admiting a recent bomb blost (who died in 1999)

Pakistan will do it when required or asked by the UN.<< now thats funny! we have given you a copy of resolution which says that pakistan must withdraw from POK for a plebiscite to be held which pak has refused to do till date! that mearely translates to one think WE(pak) doesn't want a plebiscite
