Hmm, not to sure what to make of all those statistics. I note that you didn't mention the recent unicef report that rated the UK as the worst place in the industrialised west to raise children. IIRC we scored badly reteenage pregnancies, drug abuse, alcohol abuse, bullying, time spent with families, abortions etc etc. I can't remember the rest - I'll find you a link later.

Btw you seem to be fairly anti-french in general (just an impression I get from your posts) have you ever lived in France? Most of the people I've met over there were friendly and polite (with the exception of a couple of bastard idoitic drivers). The country itself is far less crowded and congested than the UK so I would say it was a much more pleasant place to live overall. Pity I'm so crap at French.

What to make of these statistics? Well, in printed form I would recommend a paper aeroplane.

I might also add:
"There are lies, damn lies, and statistics"
"76.5% of statistics are made up on the spot"

France didn't do to well in that UNICEF report.

I know all these statistical reports should be taken with a large dose of salt, that UNICEF report even more so.

Indeed, all the the rich English speaking nations all came out looking bad(except Australia who refused to take part; they must have read the small print.).

France is a nice place to live, especially if you're a wealthy foreigner, and you don't mind the occasional riot. Though, ultimately, I would say that you can make a much better living in the UK.
