"anti-semitic chanting during the match"

Against anyone in particular, or just because?

The reason for the chants was that we were playing Tottenham who traditionally have had a large jewish following (due to their location in North London). The spurs fans often refer to themselves as the Yids, or Yiddos, and you will hear them chanting this during a game.

Some of the abuse at Upton Park was on the same sort of level that gets dished out to every set of away fans around the country (eg remarks about cockney wankers or thieving scousers). Most of the abuse was just vile. This is a problem we've had at West Ham for years, although my father, who started going to games in the 1940s, said he didn't remember it in the 50s and 60s. Having said that the large jewish community in the east end (which had almost entirely moved out by the 1960s) used to endure pretty bad abuse from the locals.

I've absolutely no idea why it has persisted longer than other forms of racist abuse which have, by and large, been stamped out at Upton Park. It will be interesting to see what the club does next.

Tevez effort outstanding.
Marlon Harewood lazy, and incompetent.

That just about sums up their performances for the season.

Terrible decision by the linesman :-)

How about Robinson scoring on Foster?

Foster also gave up a really poor rebound.

Foster was looking like a solid contender for Robinsons job. But those two incidents may take a long time to forget.

Hammers 2-nil, 26 points, Tevez is impact player again.

But Charlton already at 30. The Blades and Wigan are in sight.
Hammers may get to mid 30's if they play great. But that's not 40.

Could Hammers have to beat ManUtd on last day of season to stay up?
Will ManUtd have clinched by then, giving some hope?
Or will it be over by then?

Hammers win 7 of 9. Amazing.

But FIFA will take points away. Hammers down, Seffield United stay up?
