"I think you'll find that Maurice Wilkins was born in New Zealand" - He was still British.  Both of his parents were British and his family moved back here when he was only 6.
 
"Penecillin: While this was discovered by a Scot (Fleming) it was propagated & developed into something useable by Howard Florey, an Australian." - Florey didn't work alone.  He worked with a team of British scienstists - Sir Ernst Boris Chain, A. D. Gardner, Norman Heatley, M. Jennings, J. Orr-Ewing and G. Sanders - at Oxford University.

Yeah.  I read in the newspaper the other day that two of them tried attacking an old lady and her dog in Budleigh Salterton in Devon.  She fought them off with hter handbag!
 
They are huge things.
