Tim Berners-Lee was voted the 99th Greatest Briton of all time in BBC's "100 Greatest Britons" in 2002 as he invented the World Wide Web at CERN on Switzerland in 1989.
 
interesting that a guy who rocked our world that much only rates 99th on the list isn't it.

while the bears and wolves are gone the boars are thriving and they certainly can and will kill a person.

Yeah, there are wild boar in England - they can get a bit irate at times and can be very dangerous. Did you know there are also wild Kangaroos raoming the place. 'These wallabies were kept in a zoo during World War II and when the bombing became too close for comfort they were released to hopefully save them. They are now so common that they are almost considered indigenous to the area.'
 
Don't think you can hunt them though.

Simply brilliant - about the wallaby's. I'd never heard of them being in England. I'm going to have to spend a day or so with friends tracking some down next time I'm near Gatwick.

10 reasons to be proud of being british....
1) we can que better than lemmings or penguins... does wonders for logistics..
2) whilst were not always the smartest we have some smart places (kings college cambridge has more nobel prize winners than france ;) )
3) British Army.... poor as peanuts, homeless and still effective (especially at griping)
4) British Navy (gay and proud lol) still the pride of Britain
5) RAF (they get to play with lots of shiny toys)
6) Pubs.... none of this fancy chrome wine bar stuff. pub food, beer (even recognition of decent foreign beer)
7) British slang - to this day geordie, scouse, brum and cockney can claim theyre speaking english and completly confuse every other "english" speaker world over!
8) Music.. we do make some rather good stuff beatles, oasis, DJ's etc
9) Seeing defeat as a good thing (dunkirk) we love being the underdog - so we can have a terrible football (soccer) team that loses the world cup, yet we still look back at 66 with pride, and bide our time till we win again and can be the underdog winning again!
10) British pride. again we love ourselves.
