Subject: New Falklands Conflict

Whilst I don't think things are going to kick off any time soon ( Argentinian Military forces are in pieces), Argentina are certainly raising the issue. Oblivious to international law.

It seems to be nothing more than political posturing by Argentina.  The bit I don't understand is why the UK government has allowed itself to be drawn into a war of words.  There's zero chance Argentine has either the legal right or capability to do anything.  Even in the extremely unlikely event that Brazil, Uruguay and Venezuela should become involved it would still be nothing more than target practice for a douzn or so Typhoons based at Mount Pleasant and a couple of submarines.  Not that that scenario is ever going to happen.  Politically  it would be impossible, although the European and American reaction to an escalation in tensions would be interesting given France's moves towardas the UK and Obamas clear distain for her most loyal ally.
