Gordon Brown was accused of sending out 'mixed messages' on Afghanistan today after warning Hamid Karzai Britain troops will withdraw if he does not cut corruption.
The Prime Minister read the riot act to the newly re-elected Afghan president this morning, attacking his government for becoming a 'byword for corruption'.
In a major speech, he insisted winning the war is vital to preventing terrorist atrocities at home but also laid our five key tests for Mr Karzai to achieve.
If he failed to do so, he would 'forfeit' the right to British and international support, the Prime Minister said,
