With the war in Libya still raging, I'm surprised there's not more activity on America's first attempt at "nation building" in the Muslim world - our heroic attack on Derna (USMC "Shores of Tripoli") and the politician's shameful squandering of that brave effort. There's a lot of great hisory here than many people have simply forgotten, and forgotten heroes as well like William Eaton and Marine Lt. Presley O'Bannon. Anyone interested in exploring this? |
